Paris for a day!

We are now on board our last flight and sitting on the tarmac awaiting our departure for Johannesburg! We are a sleep deprived bunch now pushing almost 48 hours without any sleep but doing great after a fun day killing time on our 15 hour layover in Paris.

We ditched the airport for the day and had a chance to enjoy some sights of the City Of Love. We adventured through the mazes of underground trains, enjoyed some amazing crepes courtesy of Mammy Crepe, and visited a festive Christmas market near the Louvre. The team is doing great!

Now as we prepare for the 10hrs of flying ahead we turn our hearts towards what we have all been waiting for. Though our legs are tired, our eyes are heavy, we are filled with a sense of anticipation of being back with our friends in Swaziland tomorrow!

For now, we will sign off and hopefully all drift off into dreamland while we head for the skies. Until tomorrow!

  1. Wow! What a super-long journey…and awesome adventure already! I’m just putting the finishing touches on the launch of a new series tonight called “Refugee: A Christmas Story”! To open the message I’ll show you’re brief ‘Hello’ from Swaziland…and then, as a church, in each of our Worship Communities…we’re going to stop and pray a prayer-of-commissioning over each of you! We endorse, support and commission you…on behalf of all Riverwooders and heaven itself to go enhance and lift up the lives of the precious people in Swaziland! Jesus couldn’t have made it more clear… “if you feed, cloth, love, befriend, welcome and rescue the very least of these you meet…you’re doing it to Me! I am the Swazi orphan! I am the single parent who’s family has been ravaged by HIV / AIDS! I am the kid with no shoes…or underwear! So love them like you would love Me!” We all know you will! So, with your whole church and heaven itself behind you, go give it all you have and leave no child un-hugged! Its such an honour to have SwaziTeam 2018 wrap up the first decade of a remarkable relationship! GO TEAM! – t

  2. Well, by the time you read this you will have made it. Way. To. Go. Now the real fun starts. Don’t forget to wear your dancing shoes to church tomorrow.

Allison here is a message from Russ: 🦆🦆🐌🐌🐞🐞🐛🌖🌕🌚🌜🌛🌏🌍🌎. Animals! 🦍🦍 Hope those emojis show up. He sends them from the bottom of his heart! 😂 We all love and miss you.

  3. HEY TEAM!!

What a beautiful day you had in Paris! I can’t wait to hear more about your impressions of the city of love (or is it lights? I can never remember haha).

Well done on the many hours of travelling! As I write this I know you are hearing your final destination. What a relief! And honestly, what a picture of life! Busy, nonstop, exhausting, feeling slightly delirious, and beautiful. And all in pursuit of the ultimate destination, the greatest homecoming, when we will walk into glory with Jesus! Can’t wait!

I’m continuing to think of and pray for each of you. In church this weekend, across all our locations and services, we will be praying for you, for Swaziland, and for God to take your humble sacrifices and multiply them. Can’t wait to see how he goes above and beyond our wildest dreams to multiply your efforts!

    Love you all! Be safe!

  4. I will continue to pray each day that you shine the light of Jesus to our precious families in Swaziland. Way to go team!

  5. Krista’s sister here, so glad to be able to follow your adventures on the blog! I’m praying for your team and I know that God will bless you as you bless others as you serve and love them. Enjoy every moment, I pray that each of you will experience the love and goodness of God in new and meaningful ways!

  6. Leigh Mae, we see you showing off your pedicure in the airport!! We love you and miss you sooooo much.

Jake wants to know what you got to eat for dinner. Also I think you need to take some selfies with your mouth closed……
