Halfway there….

Well…after a weeeeee bit of excitement at the Winnipeg airport yesterday morning….there was a bit of an identity crisis by one of our fearless leaders. Apparently she thought she was bald. Well….either that or maybe someone else’s passport happened to be pulled out of the drawer at home.

So, in rescue fashion and a mad dash back home, all was resolved with lots of time to spare 🙂

The team is doing great and full of excitment. We are a bit sore from the last 8 hours of sitting and ready to board our last leg of flights to Johannesburg in a few minutes. Our team is in great spirits and enjoying one another.

On the other hand, I may have made a poor choice in my pre-30 hour stuck-on-a-plane meal….but that’s not my problem….its the problem of my seat mate.

We will update once we arrive in Swaziland. Looking forward to sharing this journey with you all!

Jon & the team.

  1. Well that is one way to bring your husband with you! This weeks sermon was amazing (as usual!) and reminds us that God’s agape love needs to be reflected through us to those around us. You guys are God’s love in action! Blessings to you all.

  2. JEALOUS! that I could not be there with you! I know that God is going to bless you in your own personal journeys. He has provided a way for you to go there; a job for you to do there; a life for you to change there – the big question of this day – are you ready for the change that will happen in YOU! Remember, God loves you just where you are; but never allows you to stay where you are. Praying for you all!

  3. What’s wrong with wanting to look like a bald guy?!? :). Hey…we’re just here together at The Firehall service praying for you and cheering you all on! Thanks for going to such great lengths to represent all of us at Riverwood and literally spread the love of Christ around the world! Can’t wait to hear all about it! (Still kind of ironic that you trusted all the passports to the one person who forgot hers!…but I feel honoured that she wanted to take me with her!) – t

  4. I am so excited for all of you! And really laughing out loud at your amazing leaders! It’s so great to make fun memories like these with your team before you get to work with the beautiful people of Swaziland. I can hardly wait to hear how God will move in you and through you. You are all in my prayers. Soak up every moment of your time there.

  5. So happy to hear that your journey is going well so far! I hope you all have a restful night in Joberg and enjoy the final leg of your journey to Swaziland tomorrow.
Jordan, your son has lost his mind. He was taking his shoes and hat off in the van, and throwing them at me while yelling “bananas” at the top of his lungs. We’re off to the pool now to try and burn off some of the crazy (and I’m ok, so don’t be worried). Love you!
