Church at Enaleni and Cultural Dancing

Yesterday Matt and I went to church at Enaleni. For me, it was great to see so many familiar faces again! We loved the singing and dancing and the life everyone gave to the worship. Everyone was so welcoming to us. Pastor Peter even made a few jokes about how I told him I was getting married to a tall handsome man and after I invited him to the wedding I all of sudden just disappeared! Everyone had a good laugh.

After church, Matt and I decided to sight see around the Swazi countryside. We ended up going to a Cultural Center that had performances of traditional Swazi dances. It was awesome! We even were pulled down to learn some of the dances ourselves.  Further down the road from the cultural center we saw a beautiful waterfall. The landscape there is as beautiful as the people we have met.

Today we are off to Enaleni once again to size more children for their school shoes.

Thanks again for the blog comments. We love reading them!

  1. Hello Amanada and Matt,
It is good to know everytthing is going well. The pictures were great to see. The church looks great. They did alot of work after Kelly and the team were there. I am glad that everything has gone well. We miss you both and will continue to pray for you . God bless, be safe and we love you.

  2. Amanda and Matty,
The pictures look great so far. Where was the waterfall located? Matt, did you challenge those Swazi men in the strength and flexibility challenges to impress Amanda? I’m glad to hear you two are having such a wonderful experience thus far. It’s hard to believe it’s already been days since you left. Everything here is going well but the Opalko and Franczyk families miss you both a lot.
My house is finally coming together; can’t wait for you guys to see it. Craig survived another night- we’ll see what tonight’s episodes brings!
    Love you both, kelly

Another great update. The photo of the singing women looks just like when we were there. So many familiar faces. Sounds like things are going very well. I hope that the shoe measuring went well today. Say hi to Kriek and Jumbo! BTW I was at Kelly’s last night and her house looks fabulous. Continuing to pray for you!

  6. Hello from Mexico. So excited to hear of your travels there. Glad everything is going well. They must be in anticipation still in the old church but with the new one looking so close to being ready!

May the rest of your journey there be so significant!! Can’t wait to hear more.

It’s been great to finally be at a computer and read your blog. Mander I’m so sorry that I was on the golf course when you called me. I felt bad that I could not talk to you any longer than I did but I did have a pretty good game so maybe your call brought a little good fortune to my game! Ha Ha… Anyways…good to see your smiling face once again and the pictures are great as well. The church looks fantastic! What a blessing it must be to the ministry there. I love the waterfall picture…your beautiful smile makes the waterfall that much more beautiful and Matt’s an ok addition to the pic as well…kidding Matt!
Looking forward to hearing more of your adventure in Swaziland and seeing more pictures as well.
Love you both and may God richly bless.

    Dad

P.S. – Craig is in the final three! Finale is next week.
