Hi!  My name is LeeAnn Cheadle.  I am 4 weeks away from realizing a most-of-my-life-long dream.  I’ve wanted to go to Africa since I was a child. Only in the past few years have I realized why I want to go.  God has put the desire in my heart to help the poor, homeless, orphaned and widowed and to see his justice done in their lives.  I believe in serving those in poverty here in Winnipeg but have always felt drawn to also serve the people of Africa.  I can barely express how excited I am to meet the children (and everyone else) of Swaziland and specifically Enaleni and Bhobhokazi.  Although it will be very hard to leave my husband and two little girls for 2 weeks, I know God has something to show me on this journey.  I’m already enjoying new friendships on the Swazi team and look forward to getting to know everyone.  I’ll have a good chance to do that on our 17 hour and 45 minute flight to Johannesburg!  A few scriptures have jumped out at me in the past few weeks.  They have become my prayers and encouragement for the team and for the trip.  One of them is John 15:5.  “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches.  Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.”  I pray that we keep Jesus at the centre of this trip and the reason for everything we do!  My second prayer is that our ‘lights would shine for His glory’!  Matt. 5:16 “Make your light shine, so that others will see the good that you do and will praise your Father in heaven.”  The last one is Romans 10:13-15 “…. How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”

Thank you to all the Riverwooders praying and taking this journey with us!

Sala kahle!
