As you’ve probably all guessed, the team has made it safely home. In spite of a two hour delay in Minneapolis due to the bad weather, we all made it back to Winnipeg last night. It was a bit sad to have our last countdown right before we cleared customs.
I think I speak on behalf of the rest of the team when I say thank-you to everyone who has kept us in their thoughts and prayers during our trip. We couldn’t have done it without you. It was your prayers (and comments) that kept us going on an extremely intense and exhausting journey.
I also want to take this opportunity to say that it was an honour to be, not just Jesus’ hands and feet, but the hands and feet of Riverwood. It was not just our team of 20 people who were in Swaziland, loving on the people of Enaleni and Bhobhokazi, but our entire church. We were the ones fortunate enough to be physically present in Swaziland, but you were all there with us in spirit. You were there for every touch, every smile, every tear; our stories are your stories and we are so excited to continue sharing those stories with you.
Thanks once again for all your support. We’ll definitely be needing your continued prayers as we make the transition back into “real” life.
P.S. To all of my fellow SwaziTeam people, feel free to continue posting your thoughts about the trip on the blog through the comments section. I know new learnings will develop as we transition back into our daily lives.
